My Booze Heck - Introduction

Hello everyone.

Some of you may recognise me from such hard-hitting citizen journalism as the Left Leaning Christmas Tree, and The Great Deluge (when I was called a "ginger leftie"), as well as my "quite funny" quiz nights (which I'm taking a summer break from).

You may not know that 10 months ago, I made a decision to quit the booze, after 30 odd years of being someone who, as my nan put it: "enjoyed a night out".

So, I want to share my story, and see if there's anyone out there who has either been on a similar journey, or is, as the phrase goes, "Sober Curious".

I've booked the Moseley Hive (see link below for address) from 7 until 9pm on September 11th 2024, for an informal, free, non-judgy session where we talk about the aspects, (good and bad) of being sober/"California sober", or to discuss our own unique relationships with the old sauce.

I've got podcast intentions, so there is opportunity to speak individually, with consent.

More on this story as it develops.
